As per the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi – President of the Arab Republic of Egypt – during the inauguration of the second edition of the annual International Industry Forum and Exhibition, held under his patronage and with his attendance for the second consecutive year at Al-Manara International Conference Center and Egypt International Exhibitions Center in New Cairo from October 28 to 30, 2023. His Excellency instructed the provision and development of 100 schools following the Applied Technology Schools model through the Federation of Egyptian Industries in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the banking sector, with the required support and cooperation with all concerned entities including civil society and international institutions.

Vision

Expanding the experience of applied technology schools under the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in partnership with private sector institutions to prepare qualified technical cadres that meet the needs of the labor market, based on scientific foundations and curricula, and are capable of joining both local and international labor markets.

Objectives
  • Enhance the quality of outputs and professional skill levels to meet labor market needs in terms of new jobs and specializations.
  • Educate and train students on the latest technological innovations.
  • Provide job opportunities for students at the industrial partner’s factories.
  • Obtain international accreditation for the academic curricula.
FEI Role
  • The Federation, through the Government Relations Department and the Technical Office of the Federation President (the body responsible for the project), is working on developing 19 applied technology schools ("16" operational schools and "3" under legal procedures) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and with the support of several banking entities and developmental civil society organizations.

Study Features
  • Three years of study in one of the industrial specializations, determined based on labor market needs and the school’s geographic surroundings.
  • Receive a certificate from the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and an international accreditation certificate from an authorized accreditation body.
  • Practical training during the study period at the industrial partner’s factories.
  • Certificates accredited by the government and the partner companies.
  • Employment opportunities for graduates at the industrial partner’s companies and factories based on student excellence.

The Federation of Egyptian Industries provides practical training for students and seeks to provide employment opportunities for graduates of applied technology schools. As one of the most important economic entities in Egypt, the federation includes 21 industrial chambers comprising more than 104,000 industrial enterprises across the country.
